Bitcoin hits new all-time highs (in USD terms)
This week, new all-time highs were reached, with BTC hitting a peak of $112,000 on Coinbase on Thursday, May 15, the 15th anniversary of Laszlo Hanyecz's famous bitcoin pizza purchase. Bitcoin has faced a strong uptrend over the past month, rallying 51% from its April 7 lows.While BTC has reached all-time highs in USD terms, it still lags behind former highs in other major currencies, such as the Euro, due to the weakening USD driven by the tariff backlash. Bitcoin trades near €98,000, still 7.5% below its January 21 euro-denominated ATH of €105,951.
